What it's good at
Muse launched September 8, 2026, and became the top free app on the iPhone App Store within its first week, with reviewers testing it on real errands rather than demos. In one hands-on test, CNN had Muse book a date night, build a packing schedule for a move, email a friend about a trip, and put together a planning document — and it produced usable output for all of them.
That matches what the underlying model can do: Muse Spark, the model powering the agent, scores in a similar range to some of the strongest closed models available today (see the benchmark section below).
Where it falls short
The same CNN test found the gap between Muse planning something and completing it: it could turn a request into a schedule or document, but "does not reliably carry tasks through to completion" — including stalling partway through an actual purchase. If you're hoping to hand Muse a task and walk away, expect to still check its work.
Privacy is the other recurring theme in coverage. NBC News raised concerns about an AI agent needing access to your phone's apps, financial information, and personal data to do its job — concerns sharpened by Muse's rollout alongside Meta's AI glasses, which already face scrutiny over passive data collection.
How the underlying model actually stacks up

Is it safe to connect your accounts?
Meta's answer is the Muse Secure VM — Mark Zuckerberg has described it as a dedicated, isolated computer that houses both the agent and your personal data for each user. That's a real architectural choice, not just a talking point, and it's Meta's direct response to the "how much access does this thing have" question.
Whether that's enough reassurance is a personal call.
